This webinar takes the view that we stop teaching phonics too soon for many learners, especially those on the Dyslexia Spectrum. Using evidence validated approaches I will suggest techniques using the four rules of syllables and other approaches which empower learners to read and spell typical polysyllabic jargon words. Syllable division will be a key element as we investigate how to make vowels make the sounds we want sounds by splitting words in different ways. I will also look at the power of morphographs to unpack complex words. This webinar is aimed at learners at KS2+3 but will have application at KS4 and beyond.
